German Mobility Award 2018: e-troFit awarded as a beacon project for sustainable mobility
The initiative "Germany - Land of Ideas" and the Federal Ministry of Transport and Digital Infrastructure award ten outstanding digital innovations for sustainable mobility
Garching,01.08.2018 - With e-troFit, in-tech is one of the ten winners of the German Mobility Award, which was announced for the third time this year. As part of the competition, the initiative "Germany - Land of Ideas" and the Federal Ministry of Transport and Digital Infrastructure will award prizes for pioneering best practice projects on the main topic ofsustainability in the competition year 2018.
With the e-troFit concept, in-tech professionally converts existing diesel buses and commercial vehicles to electric drives and thus offers an innovative solution to make mobility moresustainable.
A top-class jury of experts chaired by Steffen Bilger, MdB, Parliamentary State Secretary to the Federal Minister of Transport and Digital Infrastructure, selected the ten prize winning projects ofthe competition.
The e-troFit concept deals with the conversion of diesel buses and other commercial vehicles to electric drives. Asan alternative to buying new vehicles, in-tech offers a sustainable and cost-effective way to make vehicles with internal combustion engines fit for the coming age of electric mobility. e-troFit is currently being implemented in a pilot project with Stadtwerke Landshut in Germany; many other municipalitie shave already expressed interest.
Around 250 start-ups, companies,associations and research institutions across Germany applied for the nationwide award with their projects.
